ECOPOND – The ecology of ponds in the context of human activity and geography – environmental DNA and beyond
Pond ecosystems are hotspots of biodiversity, often containing many rare and protected species that are not commonly found elsewhere.
Armed with a range of laboratory techniques which allow species detection from the water samples, ECOPONDs first main goal is to improve the monitoring techniques of present freshwater biodiversity and strengthen the expertise on how biodiversity on species richness is distributed through an urban and geographical gradient.
The ECOPOND 2019/34/H/NZ8/00683 project is funded from the Norway grants under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014 within the Basic Research Programme operated by the National Science Centre in Poland.
